Our Commitment to Cocker Spaniels We have made a commitment to produce generations of Cocker Spaniels that are healthy, intelligent and have a wonderful loving temperament. We have been striving to improve the quality and bloodlines of our line of American Cocker Spaniels since 1991 and believe we have some of the finest American Cocker Spaniels available in North America today. We breed to maintain both AKC and ASC standards and our bloodlines produce all of the officially recognized color varieties. Not only do the parents of our puppies live with us, but in most cases, three prior generations do as well. Being a breeder of Cocker Spaniels was not something that we just decided to do one day. Our devotion and love to the breed has come through many years of ownership and experiences with the breed. After our children left home several years ago, we became very interested in learning more about the breed and why there were so many health and temperament issues being reported. Much to our dismay, we learned that through poor breeding practices, not only with cockers, but in America's entire purebred dog populations, genetic health disorders were running at epidemic levels. Call it what you wish: empty nest syndrome, unfulfilled nurturing or a new challenge in life's many directions, at that point in time, we made a commitment to bring forward a generation of Cocker Spaniels that would be healthy, intelligent and have the wonderful loving temperament similar to the Cocker Spaniels we knew from of our own childhood. We felt that our mission was, and is, to make sure the wonderful nature of what, in our opinion, is one of the finest dogs in the world to own would not be lost. Our journey has taken us to dog shows, breeders, auctions, individual homes, kennels, puppy mills and back yard breeders. We have visited with the blue bloods of the show arena, listened to countless speakers and seminars, studied pedigrees, driven for hours down back roads and have visited some of the most horrid kennels (if you can call them that) we have ever seen. My wife still talks about the day I returned home from such a trip with eight Cocker Spaniel puppies. I just could not bear to leave these wonderful little guys behind in such a place, so I bought the entire litter! Not one of the puppies met our standards, but I didn't care at the time. We raised the puppies; finding homes for five and keeping three as pets for ourselves. Yeah, I know I'm an old softie... Over the years we have worked very hard to develop a wonderful line of Cocker Spaniels. Our puppies are healthy, intelligent and have wonderful temperaments. If you want to compete with them in what ever activity you wish, our puppies will do their very best to please you; just like our Cocker Spaniels did when we were children...
